For Me, Not For Thee

Elite schools for their kids. Empty promises for ours.

Gayle Cosby has been a relentless critic of charter schools, especially while she was enjoying the attention during her time on the IPS school board, claiming they “destabilize” school districts.

Yet, while publicly attacking and calling for the destruction of charter schools, she sent her own children to Herron High School—one of Indianapolis’s top charter schools—where her son graduated just last year.

Now, she’s trying to block the expansion of successful charter schools like the one her kids attended, denying other families the same opportunities her family enjoyed.

Elite schools for Gayle Cosby, but empty promises for kids who aren’t part of the elite IPS board or executive team. Since she’s running for IPS school board again this year, it’s time we call her out on her hypocrisy!

This website shines a spotlight on politicians whose personal educational choices for themselves and their families conflict with their opposition to charter school and other education choice policies, raising questions about their commitment to equitable education for all.

It serves as a resource for citizens to understand the true priorities of their representatives. Contact us through the form below if you have any tips on other hypocritical politicians that we should highlight.
